Turning the first sod for the project "Rehabilitation of Road III-3004 Trastenik – Orehovitsa – Road III-137" in Pleven region

Today, rehabilitation of Road III-3004 Trastenik – Orehovitsa – Road III-137 has commenced. The project is financed by the EU Structural Funds and is being implemented under the Operational Programme Romania-Bulgaria Cross Border Cooperation 2007-2013, co-financed by the European Regional Development Fund and the state budget.

The project includes rehabilitation of 16.34 km of a third-class road on flat and hilly terrain which passes through the town of Trastenik and the village of Orehovitza. Road III-3004 Opanets – Dolna Mitropoliya – Trastenik - Orehovitsa – (Knezha – Krushovene) is a major transport connection of national and regional importance. The road will be reconstructed in twelve months’ time.
