In October 2013, the project Rehabilitation of Road III-3004 Trastenik – Orehovitsa – Road III-137 in Pleven region was successfully completed. The Contractor of the project is Trastenik 2012 Consortium with PATSTROY-92 AD as Lead Partner and members Injstroy Ltd - Pleven and Roads and Equipment EAD. The rehabilitation was implemented with the financial support of the Operational Programme Cross-Border Cooperation Romania – Bulgaria 2007-2013.

By the rehabilitation of this 16.34 km road section, the road structure in sections with low bearing capacity was improved and the whole road-bed was covered with new asphalt. The shoulders were restored, concrete curbs were laid down and steel guardrails and new road markings were installed. Optimal drainage of the road pavement is provided. Three large bridges were repaired – a bridge in the town of Trastenik with a total length of 10.5 m, an 8 m long bridge in the village of Orehovitsa and a 66 m long bridge over the Iskar River. A second traffic lane was built along the bridge crossing the Iskar River and traffic has already been launched in both directions.

The rehabilitation of Trastenik – Orehovitsa Road has revived one essential transport connection of national and regional significance, facilitating the traffic in the north-western part of Pleven region and connecting it with Vratsa region.
