6 September 2013

The project Correction of the Yablanitsa River in the town of Etropole from p.p. 435 - 418 to p.p. 520-521 was completed with the participation of PATSTROY-92 AD.

The construction includes reinforced concrete river bed and retaining walls along the riverbanks with a total length of about 360 m. For those sections where the retaining walls reach the left uncoated riverbank, a ferroconcrete angled retaining wall was built with adjoining concrete bottom lining. On the right riverbank, repair works were carried out on the existing retaining walls which had been partially destroyed. In addition, 300 m of streets alongside the river were covered with asphalt.

The purpose of this project is to minimize the risks of floods and subsequent damages to the population in Etropole Municipality and the surrounding environment. This river correction ensures safety of the nearby landed properties and buildings. The project was completed within the agreed period of 56 days.
